My interest in the Spanish language was awakened by two textbooks of my father. Also, I am fascinated by the harmony of that language as it contains so many A's and O's.
In 1971 the tutorial program "Hablamos español" was produced by the NDR and broadcast in 3 units á 13 programs on television. The here aquired knowledge was of good use to me in Spain on my bicycle tour through Europe.
Shortly before my retirement from professional life, I began to book Spanish courses in the community college, with the goal of once being able to speak Spanish as well as English.
Now after 5 years, I offer to assist in learning German to Spanish speaking native speakers of my vicinity. The community college calls it "tandem", as both benefit from the language of the other.
